The Safe Harbor Fund at Charleston Harbor Veterinarians is a non-profit charitable fund established in 2020 to support our clients who have encountered financial hardship and also for the lost, neglected and homeless animals that make their way into our doors.
CHV owners, Dr. Christa and Brent Kahuda, were inspired to launch the Safe Harbor Fund, personally making a $2000 opening donation, in response to the unprecedented economic conditions brought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is our goal that this fund will help ensure that our loyal customers don’t have to make financial decisions to the detriment of the care of their pets during this time.
If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to the Safe Harbor Fund, it is administered through the American Veterinary Medical Foundation’s 501(c)(3) Veterinary Care Charitable Fund. We know there are many deserving people who will greatly appreciate your generosity, as do we!
Grants for the Safe Harbor Fund will be determined at the discretion of Charleston Harbor Veterinarian’s owners and team. If you would like to be considered for a grant or would like to nominate a recipient, please contact Brent and Dr. Christa Kahuda.
